At home being a tourist

Housesitting seems to be a mixture of being a tourist and trying to live a normal, daily routine.  We are not in our normal environment and feel the need to explore, but due to the length of time we spend in these destinations, we feel the need for some kind of normalcy as well.  So what do we do?  A little of both.  Take in the sights and establish some kind of routine.  We seem to just be getting to the latter.

The pictures below are some of the exploring we've done while settling into our temporary home.

Being on the west coast...there is the beach.  And oh how cold that Pacific
Ocean feels!
My sister Betty, throwing the ball for her dog, who seems to not get enough.
Up the coast near San Simeon, where the elephant seals hangout.
The pelicans near Pismo Beach.
Downtown San Louis Obispo
What is that?
Gum?
Yep, two walls covered in gum.  Yuck or Art?
Cow Bear enjoying a sunset paddle.
A shore bird stretching between feedings.
A chance run in with California Condors on our trip to Big Sur.
Huge wingspan.
A postcard around every corner on Highway 1.
More exploring to come, maybe a routine to establish, lots of unknowns for sure.

My Zen from the Road:
I have arrived!
