Pomp and Circumstance

Graduation Day!  Callie and Grace made it.  Not just "made it," but kicked it to the curb on the way.  Both girls performed in their high school years to be among the top in their class, even if the class was a mere 740 students - which makes it more impressive still.  Their principal adeptly described the largest high school in South Carolina and their combined efforts in everything from academic, athletic, fine arts and fundraising efforts to the over 17 million bucks in combined scholarships the student body had received toward their higher education.  But enough about them, my golf game was so good today, I cannot tell you!

After pounding through 740 names and officially making the grade, the girls and the rest of the family headed back home for some good eats and conversation.  I can't wait to see what their university holds for them and what they have to add to their university.  Look out!  My chip shots on holes 8, 11, and 17 were works of art.

Here, Callie enters the arena with so many honors chords around her neck it is beginning to cut off the circulation to her medulla oblongata (look it up!) making her giddy!

After relieving the pressure caused by excessive honors chords, Callie has recovered, but she is only able to speak to her principal using consonant sounds...well done Callie.

Here, Grace enters the platform to receive her diploma, but only after heading to the mic to do a few bars of "I was born this way," by Lady Gaga.

Overwhelmed by the crowds support, Grace was finally able to let loose of the past 12 years of her educational stress.  Here she is trying to pump up the crowd for a chorus of "Who let the dogs out."

In this photograph, Miki's parents, the girls grandparents, my in-laws, renowned northwest Arkansas golfers, and philanthropists, comfort the girls as they realize the real world awaits them.

Well done ladies, it was worth every inch we traveled to attend your graduation and the 4 days we spent in the Coliseum only felt like 2 while listening to all 740 names of your esteemed classmates.  My putt to win on 18 was sweet.  May you have more successes than failures, more sunny days than cloudy, more happiness than sadness, and share more smiles with the people you surround yourself with than not.  Can't wait to see where your paths lead you...cause we'll be there with our white trash trailer, keeping an eye on you.
